This Major project will provide the Coty of Winnipeg with a new state of the art Air Terminal Building, designed to be achitectually pleasing and to accommodate the large increases in air travel capacity. The project consists of several sub-projects that involves Durwest Construction in complicated, specialized and innovative waterproofing installation capacity that include the sections listed below. The project utilizes innovative techniques and has strict quality control monitoring and measures.

C.U.B. Tunnel System
Over 35,500 square feet of waterproofing to the tunnel walls, roof and below grade vaults that run between the Central Utilities Building and the new Air Terminal Building. This sub-project utilizes a specially designed Volclay Bentonite waterproofing system from CETCO Products that incorporates 2 layers of Voltex and Voltex DS rolls installed on wood lagging with a special tie-in to the roof surfaces with 2 layers of Swelltite. The system will be provided with a 5-Year Hydro-Shield joint manufacturer/installer warranty. Durwest Construction is proud to be the only licenced and approved installer of the Volclay Bentonite Waterproofing System in Manitoba.

New Air Terminal Building (A.T.B.)
Over 40,000 square feet of waterproofing, insulation and protection board installed to the basement foundation walls, using the HLM 5000 High-Build System. The installation involves a 2-part process where a single layer of liquid applied membrane is installed on the wall surfaces with reinforcing fabric embedded into the material prior to curing. Once cured, a second layer of the liquid applied membrane is installed and allowed to cure, followed by the installation of insulation and protection board.

Over 5,000 square feet of damp proofing, insulation and protection board installed to the exterior grade beam walls using Bakor 810-07 and Bakor 700-01 liquid applied membranes.

Central Utilities Building (C.U.B.) Upgrade
Installation of over 3,500 square feet of waterproofing and insulation installed on excavated and exposed existing concrete foundation walls of the C.U.B., using the HLM 5000 High Build waterproofing system. The application of a liquid membrane minimizes the amount of repair work that may be required to the long standing existing walls. The liquid conforms well to irregular surfaces that are present.
