Durwest Construction was formed in 1991 by Frank Ernst and David Cook. The company's main focus was on Gyp-Crete floor underlayments, waterproofing and Air/Vapour Barrier installations. Durwest Construction also branched out into other areas of construction such as framing.
Today, Durwest Construction remains a full service contractor on the leading edge of technology still specializing in the applications of:
- Specialized flooring underlayments from Maxxon Corporation, the pioneer in flooring underlayments and acoustical isolation systems
- Specialized waterproofing applications
- Specialized Air/Vapour Barrier membrane systems.
As president of the company, Frank Ernst plays an active and vital role in the overall management of the company. Frank's extensive knowledge and experience in all of the company's areas is second to none. He is a founding member of both the National Air Barrier Association (NABA) in Canada, and the American Air Barrier Association (AABA) in the United States.
Michael Lavich joined Durwest in 2005, taking on the estimating duties. His duties have expanded to include project management and many of the day to day management functions of the company.
Prior to joining Durwest, Michael was an industrial ventilation specialist, having spent over ten years in that field.
Gary Tuck, Durwest's Field Manager is well known throughout the local construction industry, with over 20 years of installation and supervisory experience. Gary plays a vital role at Durwest Construction with extensive knowledge in all our fields and has the uncanny ability to get things done right the first time and on time . Gary takes pride in getting things done right, the first time, while meeting your schedule.
